Amazon closed Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday deal submissions on October 20, 2026. If you did not get a Best Deal, Lightning Deal or Prime Exclusive Price Discount in before that window shut, you cannot add one to the event now.
That is the bad news, and it is worth stating plainly rather than pretending otherwise. The good news: deals were never the whole game. Black Friday falls on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30, which leaves five weeks — and the levers that are still open to you are the ones most sellers under-use even when they do get a deal approved.
Here are nine moves that still work, in the order you should run them.
First, the deadlines that are still live
Before anything else, protect your Prime badge. Missing an inbound cutoff hurts more than missing a deal.
| Date | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Oct 14 | AWD arrival deadline for BFCM | Passed |
| Oct 15 | Holiday peak fulfillment fees begin | In effect |
| Oct 20 | BFCM deal submissions close | Closed |
| Oct 21 | FBA arrival deadline, minimal shipment splits | Imminent |
| Oct 28 | FBA arrival deadline, Amazon-optimized splits | Still open |
| Oct 31 | Off-peak AWD monthly storage rate ends (auto-replenishment to FBA) | Still open |
| Nov 27 / Nov 30 | Black Friday / Cyber Monday | Upcoming |
| Jan 14, 2027 | Holiday peak fulfillment fees end | — |
October 28 is the one that matters most right now. It is the Amazon-optimized splits deadline, which is the option most sellers use. If your BFCM inventory is not inbound yet, that is today's job — not deal strategy.
1. Replace the deal with a coupon
Coupons require no submission window, no approval queue, and no October deadline. They carry a green badge on search results and the product page, which is the same job the deal badge was doing: making your listing visually different from the eleven competitors around it.
Run them as percentage-off rather than a fixed dollar amount where margin allows, and schedule them to activate before November 27, not on the morning of. You want the badge indexed and the conversion-rate lift already showing when traffic peaks.
2. Use Prime Exclusive Discounts outside the deal event
A Prime Exclusive Discount submitted into the BFCM event is closed to you. Running a Prime Exclusive Discount on your listing is not. It shows a strikethrough reference price to Prime members — and Prime members are the overwhelming majority of the traffic on those two days.
This is the closest available substitute to the deal you missed, and almost nobody treats it as one.
3. Watch your 30- and 60-day price lookback
Deal and discount eligibility is governed by lookback windows on your recent pricing. A useful detail from this year: Prime Big Deal Days promotional prices (Oct 6–7) are excluded from the 30- and 60-day lookback windows, so an October promo price does not drag down your maximum allowable BFCM price.
What will hurt you is discounting heavily through early November. Cut your price in mid-November and you reset your own reference price, which can disqualify the discount you were planning for Black Friday. Hold price between now and the event.
4. Ramp PPC between October 21 and November 26
This is the single biggest lever available to a seller without a deal, and it is the one with a hard timing argument behind it.
Q4 2025 data: Sponsored Products clicks rose 23% year over year while average CPC fell 1%, and DSP spend rose 31%. Translation — volume is there, and the pre-event window is where it is cheapest. Once BFCM week starts, every competitor with a deal is bidding against you with a conversion-rate advantage.
So the ramp happens now, not on November 27. Build the relevance, the sales velocity and the organic rank in the cheap window, then harvest it during the expensive one.
5. Build retargeting audiences from October browsers
Prime Big Deal Days on October 6–7 put a large pool of shoppers onto your listings who did not buy. Those people are now addressable: build audiences from that exposure and retarget October browsers through Amazon Marketing Cloud audiences.
A shopper who viewed your product three weeks ago and sees it again on Black Friday is a materially warmer click than cold search traffic — and you are not bidding against deal badges for it.
6. Lock branded search before the event
When competitors run deals, they bid on your brand. Reserve share of voice buys top-of-search placement on branded keywords at a fixed price, currently available in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Amazon's own beta figures put top-of-search impression share on branded terms going from 62.7% to 99.3%. Those are Amazon's numbers, so treat them as a ceiling rather than a forecast — but the direction is right, and defending branded search during the one week everyone goes shopping is cheap insurance.
7. Price the peak fee into every decision
Holiday peak fulfillment fees have been in effect since October 15 and run to January 14, 2027. They add roughly $0.32 per unit on average, plus a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge.
That matters twice over. It shrinks your margin, and because break-even ACoS is a function of margin, it lowers the ACoS at which your Q4 campaigns stop making money. Recalculate break-even ACoS using peak-season fees before you raise bids — otherwise the aggressive Q4 ramp in move #4 spends you into a loss.
8. Fix the listing, because the traffic is coming either way
You are going to get more traffic in BFCM week than any other week of the year, deal or no deal. Conversion rate decides what that traffic is worth.
- Main image — the single highest-leverage asset on a crowded results page
- Title and bullets — lead with the buying decision, not the spec sheet
- A+ content and brand store — updated for gifting intent, which is what November traffic actually is
- Review count and rating — request reviews on every eligible order between now and the event
Two points of conversion rate on BFCM week outperforms a mediocre deal.
9. Audit deal health if you DID get one in
If you submitted before October 20, you are not finished. Approved deals can still be suppressed. Amazon's own pre-event checklist covers account health, deal health, listing quality, and payment and tax settings — with an Order Defect Rate threshold of 1%.
Check all four now. A deal that gets suppressed on November 26 is worse than no deal, because you planned inventory and pricing around it.
What this is worth
Adobe forecasts $12.9 billion in US online spending on Black Friday and $15.1 billion on Cyber Monday. In the 2024 event, more than 60% of sales came from independent sellers.
You are not locked out of that because you missed one submission form. You are locked out of one badge. The five weeks between now and November 27 are enough to build rank, warm an audience, defend your brand terms and fix your conversion rate — and those compound past Christmas, which a two-day Lightning Deal never does.
